The Somerville Public Library has seven computer terminals for public use on its main floor in addition to one terminal that may be used to search the collection. All of the terminals on the main floor have access to the Internet, and are connected to printers. Several of these computers also have Microsoft Office installed, for word processing, to create databases, to enhance images, and to create spreadsheets.
There are four computers located in Somerville Public Library’s Children’s Department. Three terminals have filtered Internet access, Microsoft Office, and are connected to printers. One terminal is for searching the collection only.
Please register at the Circulation Desk before using a computer.
You have thirty (30) minutes to use the computer. The time starts running the moment the computer is assigned to you by a staff member, no "time outs." You can extend that time for 30 minutes more IF nobody is waiting for a computer (one hour per day is the maximum time permitted). You can use the computer once a day only.
It is $0.15 per page to print in black & white, and $0.30 per page to print in color. You must pay for every page that you print. If you don't know how to select what you want to print, please ask a staff member.
Staff people will provide assistance as a courtesy, within their limitations of time and skills.
